What's new in the world of Plantar Fasciitis

Restore Foot & Ankle Specialists team picture

Plantar Fasciitis, meet shockwave.

We just added Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy to our plantar fasciitis toolkit. A non-invasive, drug-free way to calm stubborn heel pain.

ยง The toolkit

A fuller set of options for a stubborn condition.

Treating plantar fasciitis is one of our specialties at Restore. Our established conservative options include custom orthotics, night splints, and Class IV Laser Therapy. Extracorporeal shockwave therapy (ESWT) is now available at our office as an additional non-invasive treatment for patients with persistent heel pain.

Custom Orthotics

Professionally measured inserts designed to support the arch and redistribute pressure.

Night Splints

Devices that keep the plantar fascia gently stretched while you sleep to reduce morning pain.

Class IV Laser Therapy

A non-invasive, pain-free treatment that reduces deep-tissue inflammation and speeds up healing.

Shockwave Therapy

Ultrasound energy waves trigger your body's natural healing response to repair damaged plantar fascia tissue.

ยง How it works

Microtrauma, in the service of healing.

A podiatrist administers waves of ultrasound energy to the irritated area, creating controlled microtrauma. That microtrauma then acts as a catalyst, prompting your body's own regenerative processes to activate.

01  New blood flow

Creates new blood vessels that bring nutrients and circulation to the inflammation.

02  Immediate pain relief

Hyperstimulates nerve endings to dial down pain signals right away.

03  Breaks down calcifications

Disrupts hardened deposits so they can be reabsorbed by the body.

04  Faster healing

Increases cell permeability so tissue can repair more efficiently.
Shockwave is non-invasive and can dramatically lessen pain and other plantar fasciitis symptoms. It is an ideal alternative for people who want to avoid medication or surgery. Same-day appointments are available.
ยง The condition

What is plantar fasciitis?

Plantar fasciitis is the most common cause of heel pain. It occurs when the thick band of tissue between your heel bone and toes (the plantar fascia) becomes inflamed. This typically shows up as a sharp, stabbing pain during your first steps in the morning or after long periods of standing. Without prompt care, that pain can become a daily struggle and may even contribute to painful heel spurs.

ยง Finding the source

How we find the source of your pain

Dr. Gireesh Reddy and Dr. Sirisha Pokala specialize in pinpointing the cause of your discomfort using on-site diagnostic technology.

01 Digital X-rays
Quickly rule out fractures or identify calcium deposits like heel spurs.

02 Ultrasound imaging
Real-time images of the plantar fascia and surrounding soft tissues. 03 Biomechanical assessment
Identifies gait abnormalities or biomechanical issues causing strain.
